Andrés Romero

I am a Computer Vision / Machine Learning Team Leader in a Stealth mode Startup. Unfortunately, I can share the details of my position, but we are working heavily on Generative AI, Diffusion Models, and 3D reconstruction. I am fully remote now!

Before, I was a Senior Computer Vision Developer at Gixel GmbH aiming at changing the way we meet using cutting-edge optics for hardware, and state-of-the-art 3D avatar creation.

Before, I was a postdoctoral researcher in the Computer Vision Lab (CVL) at ETH Zürich, Switzerland, working with prof. Luc Van Gool and Dr. Radu Timofte. Before joining CVL, I spent 5 delightful years in the Biomedical Computer Vision (BCV) group working closely with prof. Pablo Arbelaez at the Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia).

My main research interests are Computer Vision generative problems such as image-to-image translation, image editing, semantic manipulations, language-guided transformations, image/video enhancement, and super-resolution. I have also worked in the past with Facial Expression Recognition/Manipulation and Facial Analysis.
